Chinese medicine is a complete medicine that has diagnosed, treated and prevented illnesses for over 2000 years. While it can remedy ailments and alter states of mind, Chinese medicine can also enhance recuperative power, immunity, and the capacity for pleasure, work, and creativity.

Chinese medicine uses different techniques to help heal the body. These include Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Cupping, Moxibustion, Diet Therapy and QI Gong (or meditation).

Chinese medicine has its own unique way of looking at how your body works. For example, according to Chinese medicine, there is an energy called Qi that circulates around your body to keep you warm, stop the disease entering your body and promotes the functions of your vital organs.

Melton Chinese Medicine offers the following services

The effect of diet and change of lifestyle on recovery

Your diet certainly makes a difference to your health. Every food that you eat has a certain property according to Chinese medicine. For example, if you have pain in your body that gets worse during cold days, it is not advisable for you to eat cold refrigerated food and drinks as well as uncooked foods. You are better off with warm dishes with some ginger or cinnamon. The food that you eat can also be viewed as part of the treatment. This is called diet therapy. We will be able to tell you what foods you should stay away from and which ones you should have more of by figuring out, during consultation, exactly where the disharmony in your body is coming from.

Change of lifestyle is very important as most conditions that people present with are more often than not due to stress, improper diet and improper sleeping patterns etc. If this is the case, then no matter what treatment you receive, it will only be temporary as the cause of the problem is not being addressed.

The consultation

The consultation involves asking you about your health condition. It may also involve palpating different parts of your body to identify which meridians are involved and palpating your pulse and looking at your tongue to figure out the current status of your vital organs, flow of Qi and Blood and what and where the disease is taking place in your body.

After we work out your Chinese medicine diagnosis we then formulate the most suitable treatment plan specifically for your condition and constitution. This may include using acupuncture only or Chinese herbal medicine only or both.

The consultation includes any treatment you might need (if you need Chinese herbal prescription, it is extra).
